I love triads, great lesson
@drewdietz2115, thanks! If you search triads on my channel you will find other triad videos including some longer form videos.
@@acousticguitarlessons that's exactly what I will do, as I am more familiar with the higher noted triads! Thank you
Oi, Simon! Estou estudando muito isso! Você poderia dar umas dicas de como pegar a levada de uma música tirando da bateria? É porque têm músicas que não têm violão e acho que dificulta um pouco!
@celiomarques8310, the beat/drums (if they are present in the song) are what you should really focus on when strumming anyway. Strumming is more percussive than anything else. Just start by strumming on the beat only with a down strum and find the groove of the song. Then branch out into some actual strumming patterns keeping time with the drums. Play deliberate and consistent patterns here, the nuances can come later. You might even do this to a drum loop as opposed to a song to begin. If you lose your time, come back to strumming down on the beat only. This is what you need to feel when playing anything, so do it every day until you can feel it more naturally. It takes time, but working on your time is one of if not the most important things to do as a musician.
Strumming patterns presented in this video can be found here: acousticguitarlessonsonline.net/strumming-patterns-guitar
what are your lessons in sequence. I am just doing them randomly and some are so far ahead that I don't understand any of it,,,, Thank u,, Gary
Hi Gary, My videos are all stand alone videos. There is no order, which is typical of the RUclips format. This is why, while it's great for picking things up here and there, RUclips is not the best way to learn guitar per se. Rather, it suits better as a supplement to a more focused approach to studying guitar, with a teacher for example. I would suggest picking up what you can understand from the videos and don't worry about what you can't. If you can grab just one thing from a video that adds to your playing, you are winning and is well worth the effort. In addition to that, I would recommend finding a good teacher who can fill in the gaps for you. If you are interested in fingerpicking, I have a very comprehensive course that will provide you with order, structure and guidance in this style of playing the guitar. You can learn more here: acousticguitarlessonsonline.net/fingerpicking-guitar-lessons

It's so easy to lose track of time and get carried away with repetition. Deliberate practice is essential. I've been enjoying your videos. Great tip. Thank you!

Hey, thanks for that. Cool sounding chord. Just tried it now! ❤
@geoffwalker888, you are veyr welcome! Glad you liked the chord :)
I've been playing for about 4 years and have been able to do barre chords for 3 or so, but they still don't sound great and the transition is often difficult and sloppy and definitely all my fingers don't arrive at the same time. This is a great idea. Going to try this for sure.
@michaelbinder5952, that's great! Let me know how you go :)
Excellent tuition. Thanks.

My small town doesn't have any that get together and jam. I'm outta luck.
@dimwitsadvocate6264, any chance you could organise a jam? Are there any other musicians in your town whether hobbyists or professional?
@@acousticguitarlessons I've asked a few people who are better players than I am if they get together and jam. This town is deeply religious, to an extreme, and they just practice for their church services. They don't jam. But perhaps I just haven't been vigilant enough to find people who aren't off the deep end and would like to jam. You inspired me to keep trying. We have less than 600 people in our town, so the pickin's will be slim, but I only need to find one to get started. Thank you kindly for answering me!
Fail often, fail better.
@Back2TheBike, well said :)

Dr toms idea is best write down all the notes on a piece of paper and play each note in their relative positions and run thru this exercise every day and two weeks you will know the fretboard, after all on a 12 stretch , not counting the top and bottom roots there are only four positions to internalise. however alhough this worked for me, it was Arpeggios that really cemented my muscle memory of the fretboard and intervals.
@lentas08, glad to hear Tommaso's method worked for you, as it will if followed correctly :) This method is simply to know where the notes are on the fretboard, not the relationship between them regarding intervals. Scales, arpeggios, and intervals are something else again, however knowing the note names is an essential element to visualising all this stuff on the fretboard if that makes sense.
@@acousticguitarlessons Your Arpeggios lesson were the best yet, much better than basing them on the CAGED shapes as some ' Tutors' suggest. Thank you.
@@lentas08 you are very welcome! :)
Very good instruction, clear, concise, easy to to understand, very useful that can be applied every time Thanks Much. Can you teach James Taylor Fire and Rain, and Country Road. Thanks
